What is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau is an injectable botulinum toxin that works by weakening muscles to prevent them from contracting and creating wrinkles. It can be injected into the forehead, around the eyes, the mouth, or anywhere else where you wish to soften lines and wrinkles. The treatment takes about 20 minutes, and the full results are typically visible two weeks after injections.

How does Jeuveau work?
Like Botox, Jeuveau works by blocking nerve signals that cause facial muscles to contract. Because the wrinkle-forming muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin cannot fold and form lines and wrinkles. The result allows for a more relaxed appearance to the face; however, you will still be able to make natural expressions and will not be frozen.
During your treatment, optional numbing cream may be applied to sensitive areas prior to injection for your comfort; however, Jeaveau is well-tolerated and typically painless.
How long do results last?
Results from a single treatment can be expected to last up to 4 months before a maintenance treatment is needed. This is recommended to maintain the muscle relaxing effect and prevent future lines from forming in problem areas such as frown lines, and crow’s feet.
Some patients have reported effects lasting up to 5 months, longer than other botulinum toxin products, such as Botox Cosmetic and Dysport.

Yes, Jeuveau injections are safe to use cosmetically and are FDA-approved. Serious side effects are not commonly reported, when correctly administered by an experienced injector.

Are there any side effects?
Although Jeuveau cosmetic injections are safe, some common side effects may include tenderness in the injection sites; however, this should subside within a day. Mild bruising may occur in some patients.
More serious side effects such as swelling, itching, pain, numbness, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, double vision, and allergic reaction, can occur; however, these symptoms are not common. If any of these occur, immediately contact your doctor or treatment provider.
